The National Center for Public Policy and the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) are pleased to announce that Robert Mendenhall, president of Western Governors University, is the 2012 recipient of the Virginia B. Smith (VBS) Innovative Leadership Award. The annual award recognizes his leadership in redesigning higher education delivery for adult students. Here Joni E. Joni E. Finney (jonif@gse.upenn.edu), a practice professor in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania, has served as vice president of the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education. She chairs the Virginia B. Smith Innovative Leadership Award Committee.
